Mauna Kea Tour

The hardest climb in the world! We will start at A-Bay in Waikoloa before sunrise to climb over the old Saddle Road towards the base of Mauna Kea. This route leads to the steepest and most brutal sections of the day, after we've already been climbing for more than four hours. Once you pass the visitor center, the roads turn to dirt within six miles from the top, offering four miles of very challenging gravel road. The weather can always play a factor here, and altitude sickness is a real concern for some. Very few have succeeded in this climb. It has our highest DES rating of 10 plus and is the king of epic rides. We recommend contacting us before booking at info@hawaiiepiccycing.com
